Up and out - Day 7 of 90

I thought about joining my friends this evening for a walk. I know they usually  go out for about 4 miles on Wednesday evenings-but the reason I chose not to, is the reason I don't get there very often, and that is: things happen. When you are going along through the day and get distracted; before you know it you've missed your chance or you're too tired, or it's raining, or ... I decided a walk in the present is worth two in the future? Not exactly, but I know myself and any excuse can easily become more than a delay it can be postponed or as we say in our house: OBE. Overcome By Events.

Today I expect to be at my desk more than usual and not as active, so I intentionally put in 4 miles first thing and now whatever I do beyond that during the course of the day should more than make up the additional amount of my daily goal. (Which is 10,000 steps or approximately 5 miles.) This goal is more or less arbitrary since I am the one who has set this 90 day goal and the minimum amount I wish to accomplish daily. But it is not entirely arbitrary because I do know that 10,000 steps is a recommended amount of activity for health and weight loss if you are going for that. 83 to go.
